The American Movie Awards is an international awards event honoring excellence in professional and amateur independent filmmaking and screenwriting. The American Movie Awards are presented each year to deserving Winners, Nominees, and Official Finalists.

Winners

In each of the 25+ categories, the Official Jury will choose a single Grand Prize Winner based on review and analysis of all the nominees along with one (1) Silver Prize Winner, and one (1) Bronze Prize Winner.  These entries will receive the American Movie Award. Lastly, the Official Jury will award the Special Marquee Award to a select group of deserving entries for productions that display exceptional merit.  For more information regarding Winners, see The American Movie Awards Winner Resource Center.

Nominees

The Official Jury will select the five (5) best entries in each of the 25+ categories based on review and analysis using specific judging criteria.  These five selections will then be recognized as American Movie Award Nominees. For more information regarding American Movie Award Nominees, see The American Movie Awards Nominee Resource Center.

Official Finalists

As a result of the superior quantity and quality of entrants, the American Movie Awards honors additional outstanding entries alongside our Nominees and Winners by selecting five (5) Official Finalists. Being selected as an Official Finalist means an entry has been selected as one of the very best entries reviewed as part of the judging process, based on the American Movie Awards judging criteria.  Being selected as an Official Finalist is a notable achievement.  For more information regarding American Movie Award Official Finalists, see the American Movie Awards Official Finalist Resource Center.
